ICTC's Northwest Doula Conference 2010: 'A Doula for Every Woman' was held on March 20, 2010 at the Willamette Falls Community Health Center in Oregon City, OR. Special thanks to Providence Health and Services.
Keynote Speaker, Michelle Sarju, LM, CPM and Clinical Director at Open Arms Perinatal Services in Seattle, WA, touched on the heart and soul of doula work and opportunities for the future. Afterwards, we heard from Muhammad Ra'oof, Multnomah County Sheriff candidate, learned about Maternal Mental Health in a plenary session led by Wendy Davis and Dr. Ken Rosenburg, and interacted with a doula panel discussion on Doulas in Diverse Communities.
Over 100 attendees participated in workshops led by birth community experts and leaders Shafia Monroe, Vicky York, Ginny Elliott, Jesse Henderson, Beth Genly, Makenna Bauder, Zimryah Barnes, Carol Gray, Holly Scholles, and Dixie Whetsell. Workshops included:

The conference included opportunities to network plus lunch, vendors, a Speaker's Reception, a Wellness Room, and more. Proceeds were raised to support Haitian Midwives! What a success!
